Song Biography – “You Are Mine”

This is a very special song to me. It is one I don’t easily share, as it reveals the deep part of my heart. It is song that attempts to describe my intense gratitude to Yeshua, my One and Only. He is the Love of my life. He has always been there for me. He has never stopped loving me, even when I couldn’t love myself. His faithfulness and gentleness overwhelm my heart, and make me weak for Him. He stole my heart many, many years ago and He has held it ever since. He has shared my whole life with me. He was there at the best of times and the worst of times. I am emotional when I think of His goodness to me. I love Him so much, and my heart longs to see Him and feel His arms around me. Oh, the longing!

So about the song:

This is a prophetic song in that God sings a bit in it as well. It is like a ‘yesterday, today and tomorrow’ bush. The first verse is ‘yesterday’. It speaks of when I had a real encounter with God as a 15 year old girl. I was on a youth camp and when I was prayed for by our youth leader he spoke a Word directly to me from God. I was touched so very, very deep inside. God spoke to me and asked that I have a personal relationship with Him, and not with other boys! A week later I was baptised in the Spirit in our church and I was never the same again. The first chorus is me singing my love to Him.

The second verse (the ‘today’ part) speaks of the life I have lived since then, and testifies to the great faithfulness of God. He means it when He says “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. Even at my darkest hour He was there. He alone understands my heart and why I am the way I am today. And He loves me still!! How mind blowing is that?!
The second chorus, although the same as the first, is actually Yeshua singing His love to me.

The third verse speaks of my future in Heaven with my Love. The wonderful day when I can see Him face to face and feel His warm embrace. I just can’t wait sometimes.

The third chorus is us singing our love together.

My desire is that when you listen to it you will long for the same kind of intimate love with Him.

Blessings,
Karah
